"Diver"

During my early days of diving in Hawaii, freediving was the only option. The local divers spent most of their time spearing big fish like the Ulua that James Low caught in a cave in this photograph from 1963. With the makeshift design of the spearguns used and no line attached, a kill shot was the only way to get his spear back if a big fish was speared.
