Photographer and entrapreneur Lee Peterson is known world wide for his underwater commercial photography. He was named Artist of the Year by the Oceans Foundation, Winner of the Mondo Sommerso Gold Star, and honored on the cover of Ocean Realm magazines 50th Anniverasary issue.

Lee has a large studio in San Diego, where he specializes in commercial advertising and magazine photography, as well as extreme macro and scientific applications. He is a lens designer and underwater camera housing builder who designed the Hasselblad H38 housing, MCD Strobes, Peterson 6X6 lens, and assisted in the design of several underwater camera systems.
As any form of art, Photography has two major aspects: The Tangible - Technical skill; and the Intangible - the mind and the ability to visualize. Very few photographers today have mastered both aspects. Lee Peterson is one of them. His subtle but powerful images reveal what we see but never thought, and recognize as the truth. The vision interpreted in the traditional black and white medium allows the viewer to experience the underwater world with a fine clarity and great depth. |
