Ron Church was a remarkable, gifted individual that loved the sea. He was an accomplished diver, deep submersible pilot and one of the best underwater photographers in the world. His involvement in surfing as a participant and photographer is legendary. Some of his surfing photos are classics.

Ron Church was best known for his photography. His talents in still photography and cinematography took him to the heights in high-flying test aircraft, land photography and underwater photography. His award-winning underwater photo work included diving and deep submersibles. He also shared his knowledge and experience through hundreds of articles, several books, conferences, seminars, workshops and courses in underwater photography. Next to filming, teaching was his next greatest love.

Although his life was cut short by a brain tumor, he accomplished more quality achievements in his 20-year professional career than most people do in several lifetimes.
