Michael Patrick Oneil - Photography

Michael O’Neill is a freelance photographer and writer specializing in travel and natural history subjects, particularly tropical Atlantic and Indo-Pacific destinations, marine wildlife and environmental issues. An avid conservationist, he has traveled extensively and authored many articles focusing on marine life and travel destinations.
Michael left his native São Paulo, Brazil at age 18 for college and a career in the United States. Eventually settling down in South Florida with the Gulf Stream at his doorstep, Michael began photographing the area's rich marine life in 1991, and his images have since appeared in numerous magazines and several books.
Michael received a first place award in the prestigious 2002 British Gas Photographer of the Year competition and was highly honored in the 2002 Nature's Best International Photography awards.
