These two female adolescent elephant seals are at play in the cold water of Big Sur, California.

For seven years, Carlos sailed single-handedly among the islands of California, where he lived almost entirely off the sea. He has traveled extensively throughout the South Pacific and recorded his experiences in books and magazine articles.
